Seattle Storm’s Epiphanny Prince leaves WNBA bubble for personal reasons

Seattle Storm guard Epiphanny Prince has left the WNBA’s bubble in Bradenton, Florida, for personal reasons, coach Gary Kloppenburg confirmed Tuesday.

Kloppenburg doesn’t yet have a timetable for Prince’s return.

“There’s a quarantine period when she comes back, so I’m not exactly sure the timeframe on that,” Kloppenburg said. “It seems like it changes week to week what they say about that with the quarantine protocol. We’ll find out probably pretty soon what the situation is with her.”

Prince, who is in her first season with the Storm, has averaged 3.0 points in 11.3 minutes per game off the bench during the team’s 3-1 start.

The Storm also will be without starting point guard Sue Bird, who is day-to-day due to a bone bruise in her left knee, for Tuesday’s game against the Connecticut Sun. With Bird and Prince both unavailable, Kloppenburg said the team used lineups with starting guard Jewell Loyd and backup Sami Whitcomb as ballhandlers during shootaround.
